WOOD CARVERS ROUNDUP
JUNE 11-14, 2008
Our 10th Anniversary

Tom Hower - Bark                          Dayle Lewis - All levels                     Ol' Don - Caricatures

Roundup is held at the Osceola County Fairgrounds in Evart MI
Evart, Michigan  Located in the center of the lower peninsula
the Fairgrounds is 1/2 mile west of the Evart traffic light on US10

This 10th annual ROUNDUP is made possible by The Chief Osceola Wood Carvers
of Evart and the West Michigan Wood Carvers of Shelby, with help of
The Michigan Wood Carvers Association and it's many member clubs,
and the Evart Downtown Development Authority and Evart Chamber of Commerce

Volunteer help is always welcome, perhaps the non-carvers would like to help.

We offer a very friendly un-structured carving event for everyone.  No matter
what your age if you want to learn woodcarving or already carve and
would like to improve on your skills, come join us for a great time!!
No need to be here for all four days, you are welcome to join us at any time during the Roundup.
Many come a few days ahead just for extra fun and fellowship.
This is NOT seminar structured in that we offer over 50 DAILY workshops
on a first come basis where you don't sign up before the classes start.
You can join many of them any time of the day. This is your opportunity to try
the different types of carving before purchasing the tools you need.

Setup for the workshop leaders will not begin until Tuesday afternoon.

For a list of possible workshops, click the "WORKSHOPS" button above.
Some may last for only one session, others may take in more than
one session or may need a couple of days to complete.
Please note: Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent,
certain restrictions apply.

Sharing ideas and techniques is the main focus of the Roundup
All instruction is totally volunteer and we happily welcome anyone
willing to give a little time to help others learn. There is a cost for workshop supplies.

WE HAVE NO PRIOR PRINTED SCHEDULE as it is set up Tuesday evening.
Check the daily posters for times and workshops.  The workshops link at the top of the page does list the
workshop leaders who will be attending, although changes are always possible before the Roundup starts.

Some non-carving workshops are usually available,
anyone wishing to offer a non-carving class is always welcome.

Homecooked breakfast and lunch and some dinners will be available daily from the Evart Lions Club.
We will not have our usual Carver's Potluck due to the growing number of people attending.
We will have a "Trade Blanket" (swap) and a "dessert night" one evening.
Bring your favorite dessert or cookies to share
and enjoy fellowship with other carvers.
To end the Roundup we will have a "Chili Dump" Saturday afternoon.
(folks bring chili or the finxings and we "dump" them into one pot)

Camping on the fairgrounds is $15 per night on a first come basis.
Most sites do have electric and water, some do not, handicap sites are available if needed.
